DuraCoat Red Oxide Zinc Chromate Primer is designed for use on new and uncoated iron, steel, and Aluminium Alloy surfaces. It consists of Red Oxide and Zinc Chromate pigments, specifically incorporated to inhibit rust and preserve the surface in corrosive atmosphere.

Surface preparation

For new iron and steel surfaces, directly apply one coat of Duracoat Red Oxide Zinc Chromate Primer
For previously painted surfaces, remove and clean all flaking paint from the surface and clean the surface with Duracoat White Spirit.
Duracoat Red Oxide Zinc Chromate Primer is not recommended for new galvanized iron. However, galvanized surfaces must be treated with an Etch Primer before being coated with Duracoat Red oxide Zinc Chromate Primer
